Acrylic on canvas of John Lennon. I wanted to try an abstract piece for the first time and was inspired by Leonid Afremov's work. See his work here. (Age 14)
Pencil of Kurt Cobain. My drawing won Best in Class and Best in Division at the Del Mar Fair art show in June of 2022. (Age 14)
Pencil drawing of Billie Joe Armstrong. I'm a huge Green Day fan. I started this drawing for my school art class after seeing them in concert at the Hella Mega Tour in San Diego 2021. This drawing was inspired by a picture photographed by Jonathan Weiner. See his work here. (Age 14)
Acrylic on black canvas of an image off of pinterest. This was an assignment from my art class. The assignment was to paint what was beautiful to you. My intention was to show that there is beauty in imperfection and in the ordinary. What’s beautiful to me about this is that there are no smoke and mirrors (autotune, song writing assistance, fancy outfits, light shows, etc.) to distract to make the song/music cleaner and “better”. I think that music is beautiful when it is rough and it comes from your heart and your own creative mind. (Age 14)
Acrylic on canvas. This was an assignment for my art class at school; the assignment was to reinterpret cover art of a book or album. The original cover art for Nevermind focus’s in on a baby boy underwater in a large swimming pool. The baby is swimming to chase and grab a dollar bill. My interpretation of this cover is that in this world everyone is taught when they're young, that the most important thing is to get a job and make money in your life. I changed the the dollar bill into a cell phone because I think it reflect on our society and the way we live today. Everyone lives with their face constantly looking a phone screen, not enjoying the simple things in life outside of their phones. I also kept the album generally the same but added a twist by making everything abstract. (Age 14)
Markers. This was an assignment for my art class at school; the assignment was to create an alias for yourself and make the name into graffiti art style. I chose nimrod because it a famous album by Green Day (and one of my favorites). I also like it because they take a word with a negative connotation and refashion it as something cool. (Age 14)
Charcoal of Alanis Morissette. Alanis's brutally honest attitude and cleverly written songs inspired me to do make this piece. This was completed in 2022. (Age 14/15).
Mixed Media of Green Day consisting of water color, spray paint, and duck tape. In honor of Green Day's 25th anniversary of the album Nimrod, I recreated a famous picture of all three members from a Nimrod photoshoot. Iv'e always had an admiration forthis photo because it's clever, funny, and symbolizes how we sometimes feel in the world- tied up and muzzled. This was completed in 2023. It won first place in its mixed media division at the Del Mar Fair and was published in Celebrating Art. (Age 15)
pencil. I am a fan of Hole and Nirvana and played around with sketching this iconic couple. (Age 16)
